On April 24, 2025, the Danish Parliament formally adopted Bill L135, establishing a permanent legislative framework for medical cannabis use, and the new law came into effect on January 1, 2026.

Since medical cannabis became available to patients in the Czech Republic in 2015, more than 1,200 kilograms have been dispensed by 2025, with the average monthly number of patients steadily increasing every year. In May 2025, the Czech Republic became the fourth country in Europe to approve a national adult-use cannabis legalization measure.

Cannabis is legal in Switzerland for medical purposes and the country is currently running seven pilot trials for adult-use cannabis with around 104,000 active participants as of June 2025. Switzerland is also in the process of drafting a new law that if approved would legalize adult-use cannabis use and establish a regulated commercial market.
